🍇Barking and Dagenham 🥝 SEND Local Offer Newsletter May 2026
Good Fruit
Just as tree is recognised by the fruit it bears, a person is known by the good things they grow over time. Let us envision the potential that our children and young people hold – what their lives will produce as they grow up. Their learning outcomes may grow across knowledge, confidence, independence, kindness, perseverance, resilience, and courage. Positive outcomes are often rooted in strong foundations and collaborative partnerships from families, schools and the wider communities.
In this newsletter, we are proud to highlight the achievements and contributions – our ‘good fruit’ – from our young people with SEND, voluntary and charity sectors, educational settings, NHS and council colleagues. We embrace the outcomes that have grown from the local area partnership built over many years, including mutual trust and respect, a shared vision and support, which together bring strength to build an even stronger SEND community.
Thank you all for making everyone here proud!
Good Stories and Practices sharing across our borough
Here in Barking and Dagenham, we will continue our efforts in open communication and collaboration with children and young people, parents, schools, health services, and other stakeholders. Our aim is to develop a shared vision that promotes inclusive and high-quality support for all. We recognise the outstanding efforts our schools are already making to assist children and young people with SEND. To build on this success, we are committed to enhancing our learning culture by sharing effective practices that contribute to the long-term outcomes for all children and young people in our community.
