Warm Spaces and Community Partners

Our collective response to Covid-19 has demonstrated the strength of partnership working within the council and with our community partners. We are committed to build on this and we invite everyone in the borough to care for ourselves and our neighbours.

With winter nearing, this can be a challenging time for many, especially for our SEND communities. We encourage you to visit the Council Cost of Living Support or share the cost-of-living resource with anyone who might in need.

Visit a warm space – together with our local partners we’ve created a network of warm spaces across the borough. Warm Spaces are friendly space that offer a little some extra for people to enjoy during the day.

Ripple Road

Drop in for family who are in temporary accommodation.

For: Families with children 0-19 who are in temporary accommodation. A free drop-in for families to access play spaces for children, washing machines and simple cooking facilities.

Every Saturday starting 1 August 2025 10-2pm

Next Steps

  • Focussed promotion to families in hotels and raise awareness for hotel managers of the provision
  • Link up with LBBD Cooking clubs funded through Household Support Fund (HSF)
  • Review provision with families to identify any changes needed
  • Plan for winter when outside space may be less accessible
