SEND Delivery Group Project Plans

The aim of this group is to have greater understanding of the SEND needs of children in Barking and Dagenham who are of school age, pilot the CYP Proactive Care Model and plan for the opening of Oxlow Bridge School in September 2025. Detailed objectives:

  1. Health needs of children attending the new special school Oxlow Bridge
  2. Understanding the needs of children in Additional Resources Provisions (ARPs) and the health resources required
  3. Demand and capacity model for the ARPs (including increased additional capacity within existing ARP’s) and all special schools. To have appropriate health resources to meet their needs.
  4. Map current ARP provision – how many places etc.
  5. CYP Proactive Care Pilot – Multi Disciplinary Team (MDT) to discuss children vulnerable and requiring additional support. To include representation from special school, social care, EHC Team, Health (e.g. paediatrics and nurses)
