MIND: Ready For Adulthood Programme for 17-25's

Ready For Adulthood 6-week face-to-face programme starts on Friday 6th September 2024 from 4-6pm at Future Youth Zone, in Dagenham.

The eligibility criteria is Barking & Dagenham residents, aged 17-25 with mild-medium symptoms and low risk.

International Day of Disabled People (IDDP) was proclaimed in 1992 by the United Nations General Assembly resolution 47/3. It is celebrated worldwide every year and has been celebrated in Barking and Dagenham for over 10 years.

Creative Events for Young People

For those who have kids returning to school after half-term, you might be interested to know that the Art After School programme continues into the Winter term. The course is led by artist Tyreis Holder and focuses on creating wearable art pieces using recycled materials. Plus, even more after-school activities are coming up at A House for Artists.

NDTi - A Creative Journey into Employment (Sterre Ploeger)

Sterre is Director of Act Up! Newham, which is her own inclusive theatre company; Sterre’s video focuses on how she achieved this and her aspirations for the future.

Barking Riverside Innovation in Construction (BRIC) Jobs Fair

The LBBD Barking Riverside Innovation in Construction (BRIC) training centre is the borough’s first onsite construction training centre, offering construction qualifications and training, plus brand new test centre facilities.

Barking and Dagenham Warm Spaces

Together with our local partners we’ve created a network of warm spaces across the borough for you, including in some of our Community Hubs.

They’re places you can go to meet up with other people and have a cup of tea to stay warm, so you don’t have to put the heating on at home. If you’re struggling to heat your home this winter, we’ll give you a warm welcome.

On 19th October 2023, SEND Team and Customer Experience Team joined 1st Young People Get-Together event at The Vibe. Speak Up Young People Forum is now helping the usability testing and will provide feedback about the functionality, navigation, accessibility, layout and design of the new SEND Local Offer website. Speak Up Forum will also finalise the design of new website logo and Young People (16-25) subpage by 5th December 2023, the official Local Offer launch day.
